OUR LOVE STORY
How it Began
Like many modern-day couples, Debra and Quintin first started getting to know each other after “swiping right” on a dating application. A subsequent coffee date at a popular marina in Kuwait gave them a chance to meet in person for the first time. Quintin managed to tell a joke while flexing his bicep and Debra decided it was unwise to reveal her impressive range of tattoos in a public setting. A few more dates and adventures later, including a Michael Jackson tribute concert, a stunning camping trip in Oman and attending epic weddings in London and Scotland, they decided to move in together.
Weekends were filled with ritualistic visits to Quintin’s parents house for a few drinks, Netflix marathons, constantly ordering in food from Kuwait’s world-class food delivery networks, and getting up to plenty of mischief with all their friends. As their time in Kuwait came to an end, with Debra finding an amazing work opportunity and Quintin deciding to change careers by going back to school, Hong Kong became their next destination.
Hong Kong was incredible. The well-functioning city had everything, including an abundance of majestic scenery, eye-catching skyscrapers and a restaurant that served some of the best nachos of all time (the tequila was delicious too). Hong Kong was also the place where Debra and Quintin became engaged – a day on which champagne was enjoyed while watching the sun rise and set, and which also started them down the path to celebrating getting married in South Africa!

My magnificent Maid of Honor who I am honored to have as a sister and friend. She is an incredible mother of 3 who consistently goes above and beyond and seems to always have everything prepped, prepared and under control. I will need these skills and strengths in the coming months! I love her with all of my heart and I am over the moon to have her as my number 1.
TULIA SANDBERG
My 2.0
My friend Andrea jokes around about how Tulia is my 2.0. And it is ABSOLUTELY true. This young lady is an incredible basketball player, an amazing artist, a loving daughter and wonderful big sister. She has a contagious energy that lights up any room. I am lucky to have her by my side.
We’re thrilled to present our family members and closest friends who will be standing beside us as we tie the knot and start our new future together. We’re incredibly lucky to be surrounded by this group of people on the most special day of our lives. Read below to learn about our wonderful wedding party.
ESSA AL ASFOUR
Aliases: Dr. McDonalds, Jesus
Strengths: Knows how to survive being locked in an apartment after the owners have left the country for the weekend.
Weaknesses: Without a GPS or directions, he is 100% guaranteed to get lost if he’s driving in any area he's slightly unfamiliar with.
Interests: Watches, NBA and commercial real estate.
Fun fact: Used to swim for the Kuwait national team.
FAISAL AL AMER
Aliases: Sinan, Sinuuuni, Sadam
Strengths: Can bring an airplane back from the runway if you’re ever late for your flight.
Weaknesses: His knees start to hurt after standing for too long and has been known to leave a party early after getting too excited.
Interests: Dallas Cowboys, rugby and sports cars.
Fun fact: Has only shaved his own face twice in his life.
OMAR MUHYEDDEEN
Aliases: Umer, Yasser
Strengths: Can slide tackle someone on a dance floor from a distance of up to 15 feet.
Weaknesses: Occasionally kicks the ground when playing football and has been known to steal pillows from hotels.
Interests: Arsenal, chocolate milk and making fun of Faisal.
Fun fact: Secretly loves pork.
ANDY BARR
Aliases: Pandy, William Wallace
Strengths: Knows where to get the best health supplements and is a specialist in hamstring rehabilitation.
Weaknesses: Cannot drive a scooter (motorbike) and might start crying if you offer him vodka.
Interests: Rugby, lifting weights and giving people false hope that they’ll win the lottery.
Fun fact: Is terrible at assembling IKEA furniture.

BOTANICAL GARDENS & CONCERT
Sunday, March 19th, 2023 (2:30pm - 7pm)
Regarded as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. It’s a favourite among locals and visitors alike for many reasons: picnics on the lawns, hiking up Skeleton Gorge, enjoying a glass of chilled Chardonnay before a summer sunset concert, exploring the many shady trails, and taking in the panoramic views from the canopy walkway, to mention just a few.

Get up early and hike with us up the mountain (approx 3hrs) to earn that cold beer at the top! OR, take the cable car up and have 3 beer while waiting for us hikers to get there. Either way, you will get to see views that are one of a kind!
